Glass Castle Production / Sprint Blog 5

  Glass Castle Development Progress (Sprint 5):

    During this sprint, I was tasked to do some 2d concept art, modeling, and texturing. I was to focus on making the concept for the NPC character for the game world 2. The next thing I was to focus on was the blacksmith area for world 2 having the structure and props that go with it. Finally, I was to create a well model for world 1. 

    Coming up with the concept for the NCP was not that difficult, but I had to make not look scary but keep the alien idea. I came up with an idea of a one-eyed monster with a very lanky body with a brown cloak. when I came to suggestions, I made the eye a bit smaller and have a visible mouth. After that, I was to model a well. However, due to another teammate being blocked I was to work on the blacksmith structure and focus on the blacksmith assets. First the structure than the props. Once they were done, I was to texture them and then work on the textures for the well for world 1.

Issues Encountered:
  • To be frank, nothing was of an issue during this sprint, but I was notified that the structures that I made in the past have been impacting the performance of the game. Not because of the poly count, but because each structure is still in multiple pieces which I was told to do. I think for the next sprint I will be needed to fix that.
