Z.I.E.F PRODUCTION / SPRINT BLOG 3

  Z.I.E.F Development Progress (Sprint 3):

Sprint 3 has passed, and I am very stressed out this sprint. I wish there were not so many due dates that were requiring my attention these last 2 weeks. Balancing all classes during these 2 weeks was a bit tiring but I was able to get work done. What I was tasked to do was to finish up the refrigerated display model from the last sprint and work on a new set of props for the game.

Starting with the refrigerated display, it was modeled and UV'd in the last sprint, and now it is time to texture. When I was finished with the texture I ask the game designer, Christian, if he had any suggestions to improve the texture. this is when he told me that he was expecting a single-segmented display for this model. Since I had the 5-segmented display, I could use that to make the single display while still keeping the 5-segmented display. I went back to Maya made the single display, UV'd again, and textured it like the other display.

For the next set of props, I was to make a desktop computer, a box freezer, a couch, and a forklift. Most of the props were simple to make however when I came to the forklift I had some questions. First, is this forklift going to be very detailed since the next question I ask is whether it going to move or just be a static object? from what the designer and producer told me is that it should be a bit worn and it is just going to be a static stationary object. With that information, I modeled away.

For the texture of the freezer, I decided to make it look vet rugged and spilling with blood. to give it that apocalyptic vibe. for the pc, it should look very worn and aged since it has not been used that much over the year.

However, I only could texture 2 objects in the set before the sprint's end. Now it is just finishing texturing and implementation of these props that will be worked on next sprint.
