Z.I.E.F PRODUCTION / SPRINT BLOG 4
Z.I.E.F Development Progress (Sprint 4):
Alright, Sprint 4 has been completed. It was just the usual besides me getting Hives during the first week after spring break. it was a very uncomfortable week then, but work did get done. the work I had to get done this sprint is having the last 2 props from the previous sprint and organizing every file in unity for prop implementation. All Models, textures, and prefabs were made and set in Unity and sent to Box for the level designers to place in the build of the game.
One focus for this sprint was having to create cabinets for the game build. they were upper and lower cabinets. First off even though the card says one cabinet I decided that there will be several types of upper cabinets. this is to give variety for the level designers on how they want to make the cabinet layout to be. The good thing about upper cabinets is that the doors are going to be duplicated and the number of cabinets is lower than the lower cabinets since the upper cabinets can be placed next to each other and have no need to be the same distinct shape for all upper cabinets.
This was not the same for the lower cabinets. the lower cabinets were always built in one with several different shelf openings and drawers. How I approached this by making 3 different variants with 2 sizes for each variant. Each cabinet variant has its own shelf build and it is split into 3 parts for the big size (Left-Middle-Right sides) and 2 for the smaller size (Left-Right). These models are modular, and each part can connect with another part from a different variant set and size. This is just to create variety and give more options for the level designers.
